Carthage ISD is now offering free

rapid COVID-19 testing.

Please call your child's campus nurse

for more information.

CISD STUDENTS:

If you are currently enrolled as a Carthage ISD student, you may be tested for COVID-19 free of charge for one of the following conditions:

❖ Have been experiencing COVID-19 symptoms identified by the CDC
❖ Have recently been in close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19
❖ Have been recommended for testing by a CISD nurse. If the student meets one of the criteria above, the parent/guardian (or student over the age of 18) may make an appointment to be tested at the campus they attend.
❖  Call or email the school nurse at the campus the student attends and request an appointment.
❖  Bring a completed consent-to-test form.
❖  Complete the QR Code form. Once you get to the testing campus site, please call the nurse to let them know you have arrived. You will need to remain in your vehicle until the nurse directs you to the testing room. In some cases, the nurse may come to your vehicle to take the COVID sample. Masks are required as per district standard protocol.

Once the test sample is collected, your results will be available in approximately one hour.

If the test is positive, the student will be put on At Home Learning and will be given a return-to-school date. If the student has COVID-19 symptoms identified by the CDC and tests negative, the student may be sent home for quarantine or obtain an alternative diagnosis from their doctor. If the student has been in close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 and tests negative, the student will be put on At Home Learning and will be given a return-to-school date.

CISD EMPLOYEES:

If you are a current Carthage ISD employee, you may be tested for COVID-19 free of charge for one of the following conditions:

❖ Have been experiencing COVID-19 symptoms identified by the CDC
❖ Have recently been in close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19
❖ Have been recommended for testing by a CISD nurse. If the employee meets one of the criteria above, the employee may make an appointment to be tested at the campus they attend. Districtwide employees may select a campus of their choice.
❖  Call or email the school nurse at the campus you attend or campus you have chosen and request an appointment. (See contact information below)
❖  Bring a completed consent-to-test form.
❖  Complete the QR Code form. QR Code and directions can be found on the Carthage ISD homepage at www.carthageisd.org.

When you make your appointment, the campus nurse will give you directions on where to go. If you are not able to come into the school, the nurse may come to your vehicle to take the COVID sample. Masks are required as per district standard protocol.

Once the test sample is collected, test results will be reported to you in approximately 15-30 minutes.

If the test is positive, the employee will be given a return-to-school date. If the employee has COVID-19 symptoms identified by the CDC and tests negative, the employee may be sent home for quarantine or be requested to obtain an alternative diagnosis from their doctor. If the employee has been in close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 and tests negative, the employee will be given a return-to-school date.
